The main issue arose when Sara tried to leave the country. Authorities asked where the father was and whether he had approved the trip. Sara explained that the father was waiting for them at home in another country in Europe and that the family lived there.
However, the authorities required a document confirming that the father had authorised the child’s departure. Sara was stopped from boarding her flight and had to remain in the country for an additional four days. This resulted in extra costs, including new flight tickets and other expenses.
